About
The Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus) is a cryptic, flattened Amazonian catfish that spends much of the day buried in fine substrate or hidden among leaf litter and wood. It is nocturnal and feeds on a broad mix of benthic foods and organic material rather than being a strict predator. A soft sand or fine-gravel substrate and plenty of cover suit its natural behavior.
