About

The Pseudotropheus crabro, commonly known as the Bumblebee Cichlid or Hornet Cichlid, is an aggressive and territorial Mbuna cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi, Africa. Known for its distinctive black and yellow striped patterning, which can rapidly change to a solid dark or light color depending on its mood or social status. These fish require a rocky aquascape with plenty of hiding spots and are best kept in a species-specific tank or a large, well-thought-out Mbuna setup to mitigate aggression.
