An unusual surface-dwelling livebearer from Sulawesi with an elongated jaw and active feeding behavior. It appreciates planted margins and floating cover, and a tight-fitting lid is essential because halfbeaks are strong jumpers. Keep females in greater numbers than males to reduce male rivalry. Fry are born relatively large.
