The Placidochromis electra, commonly known as the Electric Blue Hap, is a beautiful and relatively peaceful cichlid from Lake Malawi. Males display vibrant electric blue coloration, especially during breeding, while females are typically more subdued in color. They are an open-water species, known for sifting through sand for small invertebrates. They can be somewhat territorial but are generally less aggressive than many other Lake Malawi cichlids, making them suitable for mixed cichlid tanks with careful selection of tank mates.
