About
The Eyespot Pufferfish, also known as Figure 8 Pufferfish, is a small, fascinating freshwater and brackish water fish native to Southeast Asia. They are recognized by their distinctive "eyespots" or ocelli pattern on their back. While often sold as freshwater fish, they thrive best in low-end brackish water, which significantly improves their health and lifespan. They are carnivorous and require a diet rich in snails and other hard-shelled invertebrates to keep their ever-growing teeth worn down. They can be territorial and aggressive, especially towards smaller, slow-moving, or long-finned tankmates, making them unsuitable for most community tanks.
