The Hongi Red Top is a vibrant and popular Mbuna cichlid from Lake Malawi, known for its striking purple-blue body and contrasting red-orange dorsal fin. Males are more intensely colored than females. They are moderately aggressive and require specific water parameters to thrive. Best kept in a species-only tank or with other robust Lake Malawi cichlids in a sufficiently large aquarium to mitigate aggression.
