About

Placidochromis johnstoni, also known as Johnston's Hap, is a medium-sized cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi. Males display vibrant blue and yellow coloration, while females are typically more subdued. They are generally considered one of the more peaceful Malawi cichlids, though males can be territorial during breeding. They are sand-sifting omnivores that require a spacious aquarium with plenty of open swimming areas and sandy substrate.
