Koran Angelfish
Pomacanthus semicirculatus
About
The Koran Angelfish is a large and striking marine angelfish known for its dramatic color transformation from juvenile to adult. Juveniles display a dark blue body with distinct white concentric rings, resembling the 'eye' or 'Koran' script, which gives the fish its common name. As they mature, the coloration changes to a mottled greenish-brown, covered with numerous small blue spots, and a yellow-orange caudal fin. They are generally solitary and can be territorial, especially towards other angelfish or similarly shaped fish. They require a large aquarium with ample live rock for grazing and hiding places.
