About

The L173 pleco (Hypancistrus sp. "L173") is a rare, highly sought-after, and small (3.5–4 inches) South American catfish known for its striking, variable, and often wavy black-and-white striped pattern. Similar to the Zebra Pleco, L173 requires a clean, well-oxygenated, warm (27–30°C) aquarium with caves, as it is a shy, carnivorous, and nocturnal cave-spawner.
