About

Pseudotropheus williamsi, commonly known as the Williams' Mbuna, is a highly territorial and aggressive rock-dwelling cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi, Africa. They are characterized by their vibrant coloration, often blue or yellow with vertical barring, which can vary greatly depending on their geographical variant. Males are particularly aggressive, especially towards conspecifics and similarly colored fish. They require a spacious aquarium with plenty of rockwork to create caves and territories. While primarily herbivorous, feeding on algae in the wild, they are omnivores in the aquarium and should be fed a diet rich in vegetable matter.
