About

The Copadichromis borleyi, commonly known as Red Fin Borleyi, is a striking haplochromine cichlid native to Lake Malawi, Africa. Males are particularly vibrant, displaying iridescent blue bodies with vivid red or orange fins, especially during courtship. They are typically found in rocky habitats and open water where they filter plankton. In the aquarium, they are omnivores and should be fed a varied diet. While generally considered peaceful for a large African cichlid, males can exhibit territorial behavior towards other males, making them suitable for a species-specific or a well-planned Lake Malawi community tank.
