About

The Red Shoulder Peacock Cichlid is a striking freshwater fish known for its vibrant blue body and distinctive red/orange coloration on its shoulders, especially prominent in dominant males. They are relatively peaceful for cichlids but can be territorial, particularly during breeding. They thrive in a rocky environment with open swimming areas and require stable Lake Malawi water parameters. Best kept in groups with appropriate tank mates, such as other Peacocks or less aggressive Haplochromis species.
