About
The Tiger Barb is a popular, active, and strikingly striped freshwater fish from Southeast Asia. Known for its distinctive black and orange/yellow bands, it thrives in a well-planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space. Tiger Barbs are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least 6-8 individuals to help mitigate their tendency to nip the fins of slower-moving, long-finned tank mates. They are omnivores and relatively hardy, making them suitable for intermediate aquarists.
