About

The Tiger Loach, also known as the Banded Loach or Tiger Botia, is a striking freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia. Known for its elongated body adorned with distinct vertical bands, this species can reach a considerable size. Tiger Loaches are active, curious, and intelligent fish that thrive in groups of 5 or more. They are generally peaceful but can be boisterous and may nip at the fins of slow-moving or long-finned tank mates if not kept in adequate numbers or a large enough tank. They require a well-filtered aquarium with plenty of hiding spots among rocks, caves, and driftwood, as well as a soft substrate for their sensitive barbels. They are excellent snail eaters.
