The Yellowtail Damselfish is a vibrant marine fish, famous for its striking electric blue body and contrasting bright yellow tail. It is a hardy and popular choice for beginners in reef aquariums, but can be territorial and aggressive towards smaller or similarly shaped fish, particularly if housed in tanks that are too small or with multiple damselfish. They are active swimmers and will often dart around the rockwork.
