About

The Pseudotropheus elongatus 'Chewere' is a vibrant and active Mbuna cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi. Known for its elongated body and striking coloration, this species is highly territorial and aggressive, particularly among males. They are primarily herbivorous, grazing on algae (aufwuchs), and require a diet rich in vegetable matter. Due to their aggressive nature, they are best housed in a large Mbuna-specific aquarium with plenty of rockwork for territories and hiding spots.
