About

The Pseudotropheus elongatus "Mpanga", also known as Mpanga "Red Top" or "Elongatus Mpanga", is a vibrantly colored and highly active Mbuna cichlid from Lake Malawi. Males display striking blue bodies with black vertical bars and a distinctive red/orange blaze on their dorsal fin. They are known for their territorial and moderately aggressive nature, requiring a rocky aquarium setup with plenty of hiding spots to reduce conflict, especially with conspecifics. They are primarily herbivorous, feeding on aufwuchs in the wild.
