About

The Star Sapphire Moorii is a magnificent variant of Placidochromis phenochilus, celebrated for its iridescent blue body covered in sparkling 'sapphire' spots, which become particularly prominent on mature males. These impressive Lake Malawi cichlids are known for their relatively peaceful temperament for a cichlid but still require a spacious tank with plenty of rockwork to establish territories. Males develop stunning coloration and can grow quite large.
