About

The Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlid is a vibrant, artificially bred variant of the Aulonocara genus, prized for its striking red-orange coloration. Originating from the rocky and sandy areas of Lake Malawi, these fish are moderately sized and active. Males are known for their territorial behavior and can display aggression towards rivals or smaller tankmates, making them generally unsuitable for typical community aquariums. They thrive in hard, alkaline water conditions, benefiting from ample rockwork for establishing territories and caves, alongside open swimming areas.
